Consultant / Beckwith Mediation

 2016 - Current

I am an experienced Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Construction Project Manager with 12 years experience in commercial and industrial projects of all kinds.  I have considerable experience at recovering distressed projects working with client and supply side organisations to overcome project difficulties, repair interpersonal relationships and settle financial outcomes amicably.

I currently lead the coronavirus initiative for Beckwith Mediation.  This involves a rapid assessment of project difficulties occasioned by lockdown involving supply and productivity problems and the payment issues and claims that inevitably arise.  Our objective is to restore working arrangements and to settle disputes through conciliation.

I accept appointment and nomination as Arbitrator, Adjudicator, Mediator in connection with commercial disputes of any nature, property, construction and engineering and professional negligence matters.

Associate / Artelia UK

 2012 - 2019

During my time with Artelia I ran a team of 8 surveyors and was responsible for the internal administration, performance appraisals, career development and client liaison for the team.  I monitored the team’s financial performance including checking profitability, managing fee claims, fee proposals and the internal monthly rolling resource fee forecasts.  I was involved with the recruitment of new staff and responsible for securing repeat business from key clients.  Alongside this I ran various projects as a Project Manager/Contract Administrator for key client’s such as the City of London.

Several appointments I undertook with Artelia were as the Contract Administrator, and my role was biased towards construction project management.  In addition to this I led Artelia’s Cost Management appointments in the Commercial Office Sector and have proven ability to build and maintain relationships within existing frameworks.  I was appointed for a flagship engineering project for three consecutive years growing business with an existing major client and securing additional appointments alongside an existing major scheme.

In Artelia I worked on a School and Residential tower development in London where the client had removed the existing project manager and I was brought in to fix the project processes and recover the situation.  Here the project was already in delay due to issues in the ground, with the contractor claiming significant delay costs and a client team that was not functioning, Utilising my PM and commercial skills I introduced a regime of change and improved project governance that corrected this scheme and prevented a nasty dispute from arising.
